The City of LaFayette is seeking an experienced and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance
and agronomic operations of our 18-hole municipal golf course. The Superintendent will be responsible for turfgrass
management, irrigation operations, staff supervision, budgeting, and equipment maintenance to ensure the course is
maintained at a high standard for approximately 24,000 rounds annually.
This position works closely with the Director of Golf and City leadership to ensure the course is operated in a fiscally
responsible and professional manner while providing an excellent playing experience for golfers.


Key Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic programs.
• Supervise, train, and schedule grounds maintenance staff.
• Oversee irrigation scheduling, pesticide applications, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage department budget, forecasting, and cost controls.
• Maintain and oversee course equipment and maintenance facilities.
• Coordinate course conditions and scheduling with golf operations staff.

Toro irrigation system utilizing Toro Osmac controllers with Toro Lynx central control software, capable of remote
operation via mobile app.


Recent Facility & Equipment Investments
• New golf lift for mower maintenance
• New reel grinding equipment
• Updated John Deere and Jacobsen mowing fleet

Minimum Qualifications
• 3–5 years experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or First Assistant Superintendent
• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field
• Pesticide Applicator License
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong computer and organizational skills
