2nd Assistant Superintendent
Two 2nd Assistant Superintendent Positions Available - Preserve and Richland Golf Courses
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for assisting in the oversite of the operation, and maintenance of the golf course to ensure optimal playing conditions. This includes assisting the agronomy team, attending the turfgrass, maintaining the landscape, and ensuring that all environmental and safety regulations are met. The 2nd Assistant Superintendent assists with projects, and assists the management team in ensuring the course is ready for daily play, tournaments, and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or Associates degree in Agronomy or Turf Grass Management or related field.
- Valid GA Pesticide License or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Competent on all equipment used on the golf course including calibration of sprayers and spreaders.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, including pesticide handling and application procedures.
- Participates in continuing education opportunities.
- Participates in professional organizations such as GCSAA and GGCSA.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and mentor the crew.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Technical Knowledge: Experience in turfgrass science, pest control, irrigation systems, and equipment use.
- Problem-Solving: Decision-making skills when facing weather-related challenges, equipment failures, or turf issues.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with staff and communicate with golfers and management.
- Attention to Detail: Focused on ensuring every detail of the course is maintained to deliver a top-quality golfing experience.
