2nd Assistant Superintendent

Horseshoe Bend Country Club is a private, single owner club located in Roswell, GA. We are seeking a 2nd Assistant to join our staff. 

• Club Details
  • 18- hole golf course with driving range, putting greens and a short game area
  • Swim Center featuring an adults only pool, kid splash pool and junior olympic pool
  • Tennis Center with 13 tennis courts, 6 of which are clay courts along with 3 pickelball courts
  • 28,000 - 32,000 rounds per year
  • Full golf membership with a waiting list 
• Course and Department Details
  • Champion Ultradwarf Bermudagrass Greens
  • TifGrand approaches
  • Zoysia tees
  • 419 fairways and roughs with several areas converted to TifTuf
  • Extensive areas of maintained fescue, with more areas being created
  • Bunkers are Better Billy Bunkers
  • Monday closures
  • Equipment is owned, not leased. Mainly John Deere mowers with a few Toro items. Utility carts are Yamaha
  • Most all equipment has been replaced within the last 3 years, with old machines as backups
  • Irrigation pump station is a Rain Bird unit. Controllers and operating system is Hunter. 
  • Full time staff of 15-20 depending on the season and 3-4 seasonal positions along with an Equipment Manager and Assistant Superintendent. 
  • Currently in the middle of a large scale tree removal project. Discussions are being held about a small renovation to the golf course following the tree removals, no dedicated plans at the moment. 
  • We complete alot of small project work in house and have a very large inventory of equipment that helps us achieve that. 
• What is Expected of You
  
  • Willingness to listen/learn. 
  • Applications of fertilizers and chemicals by use of spreaders and sprayers.
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Project management.
  • Understanding of basic golf set up and course playability standards. 
  • Must be willing to work every other weekend. Alternate with the 1st Assistant. 
  • Category 24 pesticide license, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
