Golf Course Superintendent – Beaver Dam Farms (Colbert, GA)

Beaver Dam Farms is a 1,000-acre privately owned property that blends equestrian facilities, organic farming, and a unique eighteen-hole golf course. Located just outside Athens, GA, Beaver Dam Farms is undergoing a transformation into a world-class private destination resort. Originally developed by music legend Kenny Rogers, the property is embarking on an ambitious master plan. 

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-driven Golf Course Superintendent who is hungry to take the next step in their career. This individual will work directly alongside our Director of Agronomy to help shape the future of this unique property and create a golf experience of unmatched quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee daily departmental work schedules, coordinating with a staff of 10–15 employees.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader, modeling best practices and working directly with the team.
  • Develop and execute agronomic programs, including fertilizer and pesticide applications, irrigation management, and turf health strategies.
  • Oversee and assist in irrigation system repairs, improvements, and upgrades.
  • Manage and maintain all course equipment, coordinating with mechanics and vendors to ensure peak performance.
  • Train, mentor, and hold staff accountable for quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
  • Ensure course conditioning meets the highest expectations of a private, world-class facility.
  • Assist in executing capital projects, including upcoming renovations and construction initiatives.
  • Maintain precise records of daily activities, chemical applications, and all agronomic data.
  • Monitor course playability, making proactive adjustments to deliver consistent tournament-quality conditions.
  • Collaborate with ownership and agronomy leadership to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage ornamental, landscape, and environmental stewardship programs in alignment with property goals.

Qualifications

  • 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • Prior golf course management or assistant superintendent experience.
  • Current Commercial Pesticide License required.
  • Strong agronomic knowledge and proven ability to deliver top-tier course conditions.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
