Turfgrass Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Turfgrass Manager to join our team at Lawn Capital in Decatur, GA. This position is crucial for the upkeep of our residential, commercial and athletic field accounts. The Turfgrass Manager will perform a variety of tasks including supervising and being involved with mowing, spraying, fertilizing, aerating, overseeding, field renovation, construction, irrigation, drainage, heavy equipment operation, daily record keeping at each of our three athletic facilities.  Weekly maintenance of residential and commercial properties falls under a seperate department, Turf Manager will be involved with the agronomic practices of residential and commercial accounts.  The role requires a proactive approach to agronomic practices and a commitment to ensuring that all turf conditions are optimal. The successful candidate will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  We currently have three athletic facilities in different stages of construction, renovation, and daily maintenance.  Our construction build will see subgrade completion, drainage, irrigation, gravel layer, rootzone mix, sod installation, grow-in program for the 5 acre facility over the next 80 days meeting USGA specifications.  Candidates should expect to join a dynamic team atmosphere with unlimited upward potential.

Educational Requirements

High School/GED

Associate/Bachelor's in Sports Turf Management, Golf Course Management, Horticulture or related fields

Experience Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in athletic field maintenance, golf course maintenance, or a related role.
• Ability to operate golf course/athletic field equipment safely and efficiently.
• Reel mower operator experience needed
• Heavy equipment operator
• Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Pesticide applicator’s license or ability to acquire within 90 days 
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
