Assistant Superintendent
The Standard Club is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our turf care team, an individual that has aspirations of moving up higher in the industry. The club recently completed a full irrigation renovation which included switching to HDPE pipe, Rain Bird 702'/752's, Two-wire control, and a top of the line Watertronics pump station. The course is set to undergo a renovation (greens, surrounds, tees, and drainage) starting in early 2027 so the candidate will gain valuable experience in golf course construction/renovation. The course currently has A1/A4 bentgrass greens, Tif 419 fairways/rough, and a mix of Tif 419/Zeon tees. Day-to-Day (not an exhaustive list)
- Supervise the crew and assist in job scheduling/responsibilities (Using ASB Task Tracker)
- Ability to properly calibrate, mix, and spray all chemicals required (Greens, Fairways, Tees, Rough, etc.)
- Work closely with the golf course superintendent on agronomic planning and budget forecasting to ensure plant health and financial health of the club
- Continually train crew members on proper/safe equipment operating and golf course etiquette when working around members
- Wilt watching or supervising wilt watching crews when needed during stressful summer months
About You
- Preferably 2-3 years experience working on a golf maintenance team
- College Degree (2 year, 4 year, or online certificate (Penn State, etc.))
- Must possess commercial pesticide applicators license (or have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire date)
- Team Player that is willing to learn and teach whenever the occasion arises
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred but not required
