Capital City Club was chartered in 1883 and is one of the oldest private clubs in Atlanta.  Brookhaven is an 18-hole golf course with extensive member amenities: fitness, tennis, pickleball, pool, and multiple dining venues.  The golf course was re-designed by Bob Cupp in 2009.  The golf course features A-1 greens, Zorro tees and fairways, and 419 Bermuda roughs.  Brookhaven has been fortunate to host the 2016 GSGA Centennial State AM and the 2011 Women’s Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship. 

The 2nd AGCS will report directly to the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and Golf Course Superintendent.  Our goal is to prepare the 2nd Assistant to move into an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position by involving them in: crew management, crew scheduling, safety training, task training, equipment training, agronomic planning for all areas of the course, application of fertilizers, application of turf care products, calibration, irrigation scheduling and repair, administrative responsibilities, HR responsibilities, environmental/BMP responsibilities, project planning and execution, tournament preparation, and other aspects of our operation. 

The compensation for the 2nd AGCS position will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications but will be approximately $60,000 annually.  A generous and competitive benefit package is provided.

Candidates should have or be actively pursuing an AS or BS degree in Turf Management or a related field.  Candidates should have prior experience or internships from other clubs.  A Georgia Pesticide Applicators license is preferred but may be obtained in the first six months of employment.  Club policies and other position details will be thoroughly covered in the interview process.
