Irrigation tech application specs
The Irrigation Tech in Training reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant. This role is critical in maintaining the course's aesthetic appeal and optimal playing conditions by completing the maintenance and repairs of all irrigation and drainage systems on the golf course. They will work closely and will be trained directly from our senior Irrigation Tech. He is a well respected former Superintendent of local courses for 20 years and over 15 years experience at Chicopee. He is now looking forward to retirement as soon as the torch is passed to his new trainee. This is a great opportunity for someone new to the industry to learn from a professional at a 27 hole facility. Although it's an aging system, there is a total irrigation remodel plan in place.
Requirements
Inspect, troubleshoot and repair an aging irrigation system which includes Toro 670, 690, 750, 855 sprinklers, valves, PVC piping, Hdpe greens loops and E-Osmac controllers.
Operates with the highest competency on all golf course related equipment. Must play an active role in the daily operations on the golf course, assisting with other turf maintenance tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
2-3 years or related work experience preferred
Knowledge of irrigation systems, including pump stations and components
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Must be highly motivated to assist and learn as much as possible from the Senior Tech in an expedited time frame.
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail is required
