Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

The Ohoopee Match Club is a private member destination club consisting of 2 overlapping 18 hole courses over 22 golf holes. We are a seasonal club open from mid September through Mid June. Closed summer months consist of aggressive course maintenance.

We are looking for a seasoned individual with at least 2 years of management experience as either an assistant, assistant in training or spray technician. This position should be the last step prior to becoming a head superintendent. Job activities will include assisting the head superintendent, 2 assistant superintendents, a mechanic and a 14 to 16 person maintenance crew. There will also be close interactions with the golf professional staff, general and assistant general managers, caddie master and caddies.

Other requirements include a 4 year bachelors degree in turfgrass management, horticulture or agronomy. A 2 year degree in these areas along with excellent experience will also be highly considered.

Benefits include a starting annual salary of $70,000 or more, based on qualifications and experience with opportunities to later build on that through work ethic and developmental improvement. The course consists of Tifeagle greens (5.25 Ac) and Tiftuf (72 Ac) everywhere else, all mowed at fairway height, and is located on a natural sand dune adjacent to the Ohoopee river.
