Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club is seeking a hardworking, self-motivated individual who is eager to advance their career in the golf course industry.  The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and other Assistant Superintendent to plan and execute the daily tasks and projects performed on property.  We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a team that is hard-working and determined to get the job done. 

Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is primarily responsible for developing a daily departmental work schedule and coordinating the related activities with the staff.

Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club is a private country club established in 1961. The golf course sits on 160 acres, fairways are 419 bermudagrass, tee boxes 419 bermudagrass, and greens are SR427 bent grass.  Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club also offers 8 tennis courts, a swimming pool and clubhouse.

A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in agronomy, horticulture, plant/soil science with two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Job Requirements:

Perform sprayer and fertilizer spreader calibration and assist in chemical/fertilizer applications.

Daily record keeping of pesticide and fertilizer applications

Irrigation and drainage knowledge

Daily scheduling of a staff of 15+

Able to multitask while managing the crew promptly

Must obtain and maintain state sanctioned pesticide applicator license within 6 months of entry into this job.

Supervise the daily preparation of the golf course, including mowing, course set up, tee marker and rake placement, hazard stakes, and out of bounds markers.

Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and a positive can-do spirit.

Attention to detail, ability to lead, identify and assign or complete tasks.

Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required in a seasonal outdoor environment.
