Course Description:

Warmouth Sands Golf Club is a newly constructed, 18 hole municipal golf course in Vidalia, Georgia. It is a public course with memberships offered as well. The course is located on Ezra Taylor Road adjacent to the Vidalia Regional Sports Complex and in close proximity to the Vidalia Regional Airport. Though best known for the world famous Vidalia Sweet Onion, the community is also known for its hospitality and for being a great place to raise a family. The course is named after the Warmouth Bream, a small fish indigenous to local creeks, streams and rivers.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Golf Course Superintendent who is self-motivated and possesses management, budget and agronomy skills capable of producing a quality product that provides an excellent golf experience for members and guests.  

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the golf course architect to supervise and oversee the golf course grow in for opening day
• Hire, train, and supervise a golf maintenance staff
• Prepare and maintain the annual golf course maintenance budget
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Develops and implements all course maintenance programs
• Ensures that maintenance equipment is properly serviced and maintained
• Reconcile and provide timely coding of all invoices, payroll and other required documents
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed including compliance with government regulations
• Responsible for maintaining entire golf course property which includes the parking lot, two-tier practice range, cart storage and clubhouse area
• Monitor and maintain the irrigation system to ensure optimal turf conditions
• Manage the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides,
• Manage equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacement schedules
• Reports to the General Manager
• Maintains required records for: man-hour usage, equipment maintenance, tool inventory, supply inventory, daily log, fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, fuel usage, weather, water usage, and all records required by governmental authorities relevant to pesticide usage

The course is designed by Mike Young and the projected opening date is April 2025.

Salary Details: Salary is negotiable based on experience. Other benefits include: retirement, health insurance offered, life insurance, paid time off, golf privileges, meal and merchandise discount, truck allowance

Preferred Education:  Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture or related field

Requirements:

• Minimum three years as Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant to an experienced Course Superintendent
• Prior supervisory experience required. Working knowledge of golf course operations, turf management and practices necessary
• All proper work licenses up-to-date in order to perform all Chemical Application duties OR the ability to obtain one
• Prepare and manage the annual operations budget
• Create and manage a 5-year capital plan
• Class A certification by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America
